Jason Whittaker – Conrod.com.au News Editor and primary news/features contributor – is a name known to many in motorsport circles. Over a brief but successful career, Jason's name has become synonymous with coverage of the V8 Supercar circuit, particularly online.
From humble beginnings with the publication of his popular e-mail newsletter in 1998, Jason's budding career has since allowed him to write for and contribute to a variety of different publications.
Over the past five years, Jason has contributed to; The V8 Supercar Pick 10 Project, Fastlane, Accelerate, The Motorsport Report, Motorsport World, Ten-Tenths Motorsport, Asia Motorsports, 2KY's Monday Night Motorsport, The South Coast Register and The Illawarra Mercury.
He is currently the editor of V8 Wire, a V8 Supercar news wire service. V8 Wire services a number of online publications, including Conrod.com.au.
Jason has also worked on a freelance basis for News Limited’s magazine divisions News Custom Publishing and Advertiser Newspapers Limited. That position has seen Jason regularly contribute to their V8 Supercar publications, compiling and writing extensive profile pieces for the Clipsal 500, Canberra 400, Bathurst V8 Supercar 1000 and Sandown V8 Ultimate official race programs.
Jason’s commitment to promoting the V8 Supercar category is unrivalled. His writing ability has earned him particular distinction, as has his knowledge and passion for the sport.
New South Wales-born, Queensland-based Jason combines his work with Conrod.com.au, editorship of V8 Wire, and other freelance projects, with his journalism studies at the Queensland University of Technology.
