
Dunlop Bathurst facts and figures

A total of 1520 Dunlop V8 Supercar Control Tyres are being taken to Bathurst, three hours West of Sydney; Of those, 1020 are dry weather K5P5 slicks and 500 are the Dunlop SP Sport R92 wet weather tyres;
For the Bathurst endurance round of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship each car competing is allocated 24 tyres for the weekend;
The Dunlop V8 Supercar Control Tyre is manufactured at the company's specialised racing tyre factory in Nagoya, Japan;
Each Dunlop V8 Supercar Control Tyre is hand-made and takes more than three hours to manufacture;
Round 10 of the V8 Supercar Championship requires competitors to make three compulsory pit stops during the 1000-kilometre race, including;
One stop where the front brake pads are replaced, the vehicle refuelled and the tyres changed;
Two further stops where the car is refuelled;
Further, any other work may be carried out on the car during these stops;
Dunlop's V8 Supercar Control Tyre is a 17 inch diameter fitment (280/680R17
size);
Each dry weather K5P5 slick weighs 11.0 kg, with the SP Sport R92 wet weather tyre weighing in at 12.0kg.
Dunlop Motorsport will supply around 9000 Control Tyres throughout the 2004 season;
Dunlop Motorsport has 18 tyre engineers and fitters servicing the requirements of this weekend's V8 Supercar field.
