WPS Racing in car handover

16/2/2005 18:13 (Press Release) - WPS Racing foundation driver David Besnard has handed over the keys to a new Ford XR8 to signal the end of team sponsor Wright Patton Shakespeare’s 2004 car giveaway.

Besnard travelled to Colin Beel’s President Ford dealership in Melbourne to hand over the car to competition winner Sheryl Sacher from Brighton East.

The competition was run through the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series and attracted tens of thousands of entries from around Australia.

The winner was drawn just ahead of Christmas, with the car delivered to the winner on Friday.

WPS Racing team owner Craig Gore thanked all entrants for their participation and promised to introduce a similar competition for the 2005 season.

“The number of entries was quite amazing and is testament to the popularity of V8 Supercar series,” said Gore.

“It has given us great motivation to undertake a new competition for 2005 and we look forward to launching it in the near future.”

Most entries to the 2004 ‘Win a Ford XR8’ competition were filled out on track during V8 Supercar race meetings, although the winner entered through the WPS Racing website (www.wps.net.au).
