An amazing effort by the Team BOC crew saw Brad Jones’ #21 Falcon start race three after a major accident in race two, where the car was launched into the air after colliding with tyre barriers, eventually landing on its side. Jones’s Team BOC Falcon was structurally damaged but that didn’t stop him clawing his way to 20th position in the final race, setting some impressive lap times along the way.

John Bowe has finished 7th overall for the round, which proved to be a super-human effort considering all that had transpired since his arrival in New Zealand. His 8th place result in race three showed his consistency, gaining two places in each of the three races. His Team BOC Falcon improved over the weekend, setting the fastest lap of race three at one point.

Quotes: John Bowe
“Finishing 7th overall for the weekend is pretty pleasing I have to say. We started out on Friday with a race car that was very unbalanced and hence why we had such a poor qualifying result but the guys have worked hard to improve things and in the end we had a decent setup. It’s been a tough weekend on our crew what with Brad’s accident and having to re-work areas on my car, it’s a credit to them that we have managed this result.”

Qualified: 22nd
Race 1: 22nd
Race 2: DNF
Race 3: 20th

Quotes: Brad Jones
“When I looked at the car after the accident, I really thought my day was over. My crew have been unbelievable in getting me out there for the last race. The car wasn’t totally right but I was surprised at the lap times that I was able to manage. We have to make a decision today on whether we fly it back home so we can work on it before the Perth round. Our engineers will have a good look at the roll cage and make that decision. I’ve got to get some better luck in Perth.”
