VIP Petfoods will sponsor next month’s reinvigorated Queensland 500.
The VIP Petfoods Queensland 500, to be held at Queensland Raceway on August 24-26, was officially launched yesterday.
“Many people might ask what pet food has to do with motor racing, but there are few race fans who don’t own a dog or a cat and we see them all as potential customers,” VIP Petfoods owner, Tony Quinn, said.
“We are also proud to be a Queensland company and to be involved with an event which offers such a great experience for Queensland sports fans.”
Queensland Raceway Chairman, John Tetley, said the deal would allow for an aggressive marketing campaign to promote the event nation-wide.
“There is no doubt that VIP Petfoods is an exciting and dynamic company that has been tremendously successful,” he said.
“This year’s Queensland 500 is already on target to be the most successful ever and today’s announcement enhances the successful new direction in which we have taken the event.
“We are here for the long haul and we want everyone to share in the success.”
Tetley continues reassuring fans the traffic problems which plagued the circuit in its first year have been rectified, yesterday recruiting Steven Johnson to spread the word.
“It’s time for fans to realise what an asset both the Queensland Raceway and the VIP Petfoods Queensland 500 are and to forget about the 1999 traffic problems, which have been rectified for some time,” Johnson said.
Paul Morris, also at yesterday’s launch, agreed: “The more fans, the bigger the party!”
Tickets are now on sale for the event at Ticketmaster7.
